Lenormand draws: ID this person and time his arrival

For all you Lenormand enthusiasts who have been reading the blogs, here is an interesting and curious draw of cards done to identify the physical attributes and characteristics of as yet an unknown person, or at least thats what the question states. As you all know- I am an avid Lenormand card reader and have enjoyed the pleasure of being a student of Sylvie Steinbach technique of the no layout. She defines well in her book how to ID a person of as yet unknown when you approach the question with a blank canvas. She also recommends double checking in the same verin of the line of questioning.

So here’s the question: How do I ID the man who I will settle down with? (basically this question asks for physical description, characteristics and useful info for you to spot him when he enters your life). Here is answer number 1: the 28 man charged for ID purpose and therefore a blank canvas- now we fill in the colours of his personality and draw him out.

’12 Birds + 10 Scythe + 19 Tower+ 28 Man + 8 Coffin + 18 Dog + 32 Moon’

This second draw- is to double check the first draw because I had my concerns naturally with the nature of the cards. So I reasked the cards with the same blank canvas, and the spread below is the second answer.

’14 Fox + 16 Stars + 4 House + 28 Man + 1 Rider + 9 Bouquet + 25 Ring’

What I would like for when you answer, in the above 2 drawsof which you are going to create the description of this man, tell me what makes this to draw related? or if you think the two draws are not related, tell me why also. Basically- are they decsriptions for the same person or are they talking about 2 different people?  I will post my interpretations of this draw after a few interpretations have been thrown in the mix as I do not wish to cloud your judgement. I have specific reasons why I felt the need to double check the draw.

Now, with regards of timing- I asked the Lenormand, when can I anticipate the arrival of the gentleman we have ID’ed as above. Note, here, a random 5 card draw is done with no key cards charged. Obviously there are clues in the draw to make it relevant to the reading for the purpose of timing. Here is her answer:

’23 Mouse + 20 Garden + 16 Stars + 24 Heart + 13 Child’

Within this draw, there is a proposed timing, I would like it if you could gestimate from the cards what is the most likely time frame within which the person you ID’ed will show up. In my mind, when th ecards were drawn, the time frame is within 1 year and no more. But this maybe more than an overshot as the draw suggests differently.

Happy posting of your analysis chaps, I look forward to all of your insights and intuition as it will be an interesting process to which your inner intution will lead you to the most logical answer. And I am hoping to learn more with this draw too.

Lenormand draw– Tell me 2 sides of a story and see if they meet.

Posted in 10 Scythe, 12 Birds, 13 Child, 18 Dog, 19 Tower, 24 Heart, 26 Book, 28 Man, 29 Woman, 31 Sun, 33 Key, 4 House, 6 Clouds, 8 Coffin, 9 Bouquet, Lenormand Cards with tags , on June 8, 2008 by the travelling psychiatrist

Here I have with me  2 fascinating draws which tella story. The story in itself cannot be more accurately represented than how the cards were drawn. The draw by the way- was done by a fellow Lenormand enthusiast who thought it quite apt I post it here. Please bear in mind– 2 people can feel so differently in a relationship. As Sylvie would say– it is not what you think- it is what THEY (sitter) thinks/ feels!!!

OK- we have a lady– who is not so sure about her love life– . But- she wants to know–

1. Where is her love life at the moment- basically she wants to know whats going onbecause she doesnt know anymore ( sometimes, don’t we all?) herself, the English say- Am I coming or going?.

The draw is as follows- note- all cards should be read in a continuous line- only one card charged 29 Woman-

‘6 Clouds+18 Dog+ 29 Woman+8 Coffin+ 12 Birds + 28 Man + 4 House + 31 Sun + 13 Child’

I present to you the draw as  given to me. Personally- I would ignore the last 2 cards in the draw because it doesnt add any more info.

So what have we here- friendly woman with a friendship confusion ( clouds+dog)- since we asked about love life- Immediately we see a matter- there has been or there is someone 🙂 she is not sure where she’s at with this guy. Next – the coffin indicates some stagnation or a slow phase in the relationship or perhaps within the couple communicating– Summary– confusion within relationship, probably due to lack of communication. But what have we here- The man- heart + house- hmm- who is this guy- how does he tie in- is he the dog person?— because now we uncovered there is a known entity ( Dog) nothing seems to be happening with this person- another man is in the horizon- with his heart in hand- probably somewhere she lives (her home)- he is all about the masculine (warm and friendly to) and wants to start something with her (child). Aww!! Also- sneaky suspicion- all taking place in summer (July, august, Sept)

Now- Lady after hearing what was said– admits something– she isnt sure how someone feels about her- They are not quite at couple stage but are sort of (she wants him to say we are a couple now!!)- you either are or you are not right???  So she admits– yes there is someone back home she wants some clarity on- bingo!!! the dog and the man are 2 of the same person!!! the dog represents the nature of the relationship- not quite romantic (in Lady’s view)- but something more enduring– a partnership (this is my view)!!!

So- now we go to layer 2- whats happening with the man back at home? 28 man and 29 woman charged

’12 Birds + 9 Bouquet+ 28 Man + 6 Clouds + 26 Book + 10 Scythe 18 Dog + 19 Tower + 29 Woman’

What is this– bird + bouquet- happy relationship or blissfully happy couple- hmm– it does appear our boy is convinced he in a relationship- ( but our lady doesnt seem to know that for sure tho). But to his right- clouds + books+ scythe– yeuchh– stress/anxiety with studies — and him making a fateful decision (scythe+ key). Dog + tower + woman- i would ignore these cards- because they dont add any valuable info apart from saying– yes- they know each other, our lady is in her ivory tower and feeling lonely. I would have stopped at the Key- because thats the best card- 🙂

Why– despite the clouds casting a mist over the man, he seems to be focused (book) and surely knows what he wants and makes precise decisions ( scythe) which seems to be in favour of our lady (the key is positive- in fact so positive it is waaay positive- any doubts she has about the guy– she needs to cast aside- sometimes our own insecurities and need for constant reassurance will be the downfall)!!

But notice the overlap of cards– the key corresponds to the heart in the first draw- which is a nice coincidence- they will be starting something together despite the ambivalence. sometimes, a little mystery spices the life up,, no?

She wants to know are they an item or not- therefore transalates into the confusion within the friendship. He however- already sees it as tho he is in couply relationship with her- but why hasnt he said anything?? There is some stress around, maybe to do with some unexpected issues–but he makes a decision with regards of this relationship– perhaps actually making it more concrete and obvious for our lady. We all need /want some confirmation- is suspect- and she will get it.

I like readings like this- they seem like nice people who really like each other- just havent quite gotten their act togther yet- there is something innocent and enduring about this realtionship- i hope it works out well for them despite the ups and downs..

Tarot and Lenormand- Dual deck reading 23/5/2008

Posted in 1 Rider, 18 Dog, 30 Lily, 34 Fish, 35 Anchor, Lenormand Cards, Lenormand Oracle dual deck reading, Tarot Decks with tags , , , on May 23, 2008 by the travelling psychiatrist

‘9 of Pentacles + 7 of Cups + Queen of Pentacles + 12 Hanged Man + 10 of Swords’

‘This deck was created by Leisa Refalo called Tarot of Color. Image of the cards are for appreciation and study purposes only’

’35 Anchor + 30 Lily + 34 Fish + 1 Rider + 18 Dog’

Merging the Tarot and Lenormand was introduced by Sylvie Steinbach in the ATF Secrets of The Lenormand study group. I do find it quite useful when trying to narrow down the remit of the Tarot. They seem to complement each other well. Lately, I have been working with the Tarot more and have gained some interesting perspectives in terms of understanding how I view the cards.

One point- I subconsciously have negated the fortune telling aspect over the last few months- and have actively started analysing state of play-ie understanding the current situation. This I find has more influence on shaping the future path rather than spotting future events. The Future is fluid and not fixed ! This means– when you are in the know- you can shape it by addressing the current action or inaction. Enough rambling- lets start analysing.

The breakdown will be Tarot : Lenormand..

1. 9 of Pentacles + 35 Anchor- some caution regarding finances is advised, being a little more careful with spending will aid long term financial security (Anchor). Also  the option of a long term investment plan which would yield longterm benefits is suggested. Suggest gain through careful investment to ensure longterm stability.

2. Seven of Cups + 30 Lily-  Beautiful illusion is just that an illusion- the victory is bittersweet as it has no permanence, possibly with regards  of a lovely gentleman as described by the Lily- grey hair – 30-40’s, settled in life and already content. the sexual attraction promised by the Lily and the reciprocation by the 7 of cups-there’s a choice to be made– to act or to not act?

3. Queen of Pentacles + 34 Fish- working hard, maybe working extra hours to improve financial outlook. Fish is about business in general- queen of pentacles has her priorities with money sorted out- so not so much emotional spending, i guess. Fish is independent work ( I am employed by the Goverment), ? a business opportunity on the horizon?

4. 12 Hanged Man + 1 Rider- Major Arcana here- interesting-a period of suspension– things generally having a sense of delayed gratification- possibly to do with some much awaited news that is perhaps making its way fast ( rider).

5. 10 Swords + 18 Dog- A warning? matters that don’t materialise or disappointments  in regards of a friend / friendship. this is a toughie– thic card advises do something otherwise a friendship or friend will be lost?  Ok– I think I may need help with this one– I am too close to be objective about this.

Synopsis– careful with finances, consider a longterm investment plan to be financially secure- a possible relationship but not quite ‘the’ relationship (or a illusionary relationship). possible movement after a period of hanging upside down– which needs some fast acting upon because a message or news is on its way– the 5th combo- I am not so sure off- but do something or lose someone is what I am feeling is the advice.

Not a very cheery read all in all–but it is the state of play–

Any input or different way of viewing this is most welcomed–

Multilevel reading- analysis of feelings and intent with the Lenormand

Posted in 1 Rider, 10 Scythe, 17 Stork, 18 Dog, 2 Clover, 20 Garden, 24 Heart, 26 Book, 27 Letters, 28 Man, 29 Woman, 3 Ship, 35 Anchor, 4 House, 6 Clouds, Lenormand Cards, Lenormand Oracle cards Case Studies Materials, Multi level card analysis with tags , , , , on April 22, 2008 by the travelling psychiatrist

Following a telephone call, I was cajoled into looking into how someone feels about a certain friend. They have decided to see each other as friends only. She would like to know how does he really feel about her. So I decided to do a multi level reading with her keycard charged-29 woman and his keycard- 28 man. The draw is as follows:

‘ 3 Ship + 26 Book + 2 Clover + 28 Man + 27 Letter + 4 House + 17 Storks..

1Rider + 6 Clouds + 35 Anchor + 29 Woman + 24 Heart + 20 Garden + 10 Scythe..’

I wanted to see what is going on around him and what are his thoughts about her.

So in the first layer- the man card surrounded by clover and letter. This describes him as a lucky, optimistic and perhaps an opportunist. With the letters, describes someone communicative and published individual- an individual whose qualifications are well publicised.  To the left (past ), he has ship- giving an exotic, well travelled feel to him, and also someone well educated (book). Ship+book- travels related to his area of interest, book+clover imply a lucky find/ suprising discovery. To the right (future possibilities) he has the house indicating domestic enviromment, with the storks suggests change/movement. So, letter+ house- some real estate or property contract, with the house+storks-indicating change of residence or house expansion. Hmm, whenever the storks come up- i always think baby possibility as well.

Nevertheless- so this guy- is quite wordly, is attractive in an exotic, educated and talented way- also has some domestic things going on- in the future.

Coming to how he feels about her- anchor+woman +  heart- so he sees her a reliable, stable, loyal person- commitment material with the heart suggest he sees her as his lover/ romantic partner. Looking to the left- Rider indicates he sees her as a youthful, physically fit and sexy individual, but next to the clouds highlights some confusion/ambivalence. Frustration involved by how he feels/ sees her. Rider+clouds- confusing news/mixed messages, clouds+anchor-imply settling down/clarity. I feel this points to their recent decision at an attempt to see each other just as friends (the clarity amidst the ambiguity of their relationship). He is however, not so sure about it himself.

to the right (future possibility), the garden implies open meetings in public places , the scythe after is the decision making card- perhaps suggesting that when they next meet in apublic place- a sort of decision will be made. Heart+garden imply outgoing relationship and garden+scythe- imply a joint decision.

Fascinating- on the one hand- there is something poetic about this realtionship- they both seem to want to be with each other, but some how it appears that they cannot for the moment. They are attempting to have an out in the open relationship/ friendship- but it may be that it might not work as implied by the scythe. It appears to be that in order for the relationship to work- something needs to be cut off.

I think at this point i should add that- after the scythe- the dog card came up – we all know how comlicated that dog can be- since we are looking at how he feels about her- the dog showing up indicates to me- this man has someone who he is alreday in a relationship with (dog). With the Scythe next to the dog- it doesnt bode well for this person. I feel sad that he truly wants to be with my friend as it appears- but this cannot be for as long he is with the other person-this man needs to make a decision.

Hmm, I wonder if I have missed anything.. as it is a multilevel- it takes the complication of the readings to dizzying heights- so any additions of information that I may have missed- do add..:)

Daily Draw- 29 Woman + 3 Ship + 18 Dog Extra 36 Cross

Posted in 18 Dog, 29 Woman, 3 Ship, 36 Cross, Daily Draw for Reflective Practise with tags , , , on April 15, 2008 by the travelling psychiatrist

Well, the plan was to do a no layout with the 29 Woman charged as the keycard. As it appears, the Lenormand cards has  motives of its own today. It has become a regular draw as I drew the woman card first.

’29 Woman + 3 Ship + 18 Dog extra card 36 Cross’

I did have a question in mind which kind of popped while I was shuffling- I wanted to know what my dreams are trying to tell me lately. They are becoming vivid and sometimes I do wake up thinking it was real with the emotions carried into the waking world.

I am not sure how the layout answered the question.

With the woman card charged with my energy- I seem to appear as the headlining topic of discussion so to speak- in a funny way- I have drawn the focus of what my little Lenormands have been gossipping about.

3 Ship- is about voyages, movement and brings an international flavour to any reading- So- in tandem with woman card- woman+ship- a woman traveller or a woman on a trip.

18 Dog- nice but difficult card- obviously someone I know and trust- also can sometimes represent a person who has a past connection- ie a long lost friend perhaps- Ship+Dog- a travel/ journey with a companion.

36 Cross- has some very negative meanings to it- distress, despair, depression – or religious associations- Dog+Cross= spiritual support or the true confidant-

peeking into the book- Woman+ship= woman born or educated abroad (latter for me), Ship+dog= international friends / travel companion, dog+cross= support group or confidant.

OK- at this point, I should say- I have a mini holiday booked in early May for R&R abroad with my best mate who is my confidant 🙂

However- the spread interpretation this way has not answered my question- why am I dreaming the way I dream right now- what does it mean- ?

So I am going to try a new approach to the Lenormand like it were the Tarot- the Archetype / Symbology extrapolation.

The woman card in essence is female, lunar influence- neutral by default. It is there to make the reading relevant. The ship- symbolise passage- the number 3 (triangulation)- movement/departure- journey over long distances/ transitions. The dog- is in essence an animal, loyal to man, faithfulness, soulmate link or soul connection, the number 9 (1+8=9). And the Cross- doesn’t get anymore fated than that- spiritual test, introspective testing of ones convictions- 36 ( essence of 9, also 3 & 6 ,) a lot of 3’s in this reading.

Here’s the kick- an excess of 3’s essence and exaggerated with the 9’s-

3 Positive Traits: Self-expressive in many ways, verbalization, inspiration and keen imagination, artistic gifts, accurate impressions and insights, never-ending optimism, happy and fun-loving, enjoys life fully.

3 Negative Traits: Scattered energies, exaggeration, unfinished projects, lack of direction, moodiness, self-centeredness.
9 Positive Traits: Heartily friendly and congenial, a hail-fellow, humanitarian instincts, a giving nature, selflessness, obligations, creative expression, readily influenced to do good works, artistic and writing talents.

9 Negative Traits: Self-adulation, scattered interests, possessiveness, moodiness, careless with finances, wanting peer attention.
2 Positive Traits: Cooperation, adaptability, considerate of others, sensitive to the needs of others, partnering, an arbiter or mediator, modest, sincere, spiritually influenced, a diplomat.

2 Negative Traits: Shyness, timidity, fear, self-consciousness, drown in detail, depression.
And finally-

The reduction of 11 from (2+9). 11 essentially is a more spiritually expressive side of 2.

This  draw in essence has answered by indicationg the imbalances in the 3 areas of life ( mind, body and spirit) , the imbalance of actions ,inactions and non action actions. Perhaps the pursuit of the studies (both scientific and esoteric) is taking more out of me than I realise. The scholar attitude I have is not self serving but rather soul destroying. In my waking hours- I am alright and ignorant of the imbalance, when I sleep- the subconscious has to illuminate the imbalance by showing images of unrest, pain and sorrow-

Basically  the cards have answered me in numbers-energy frittering in all the wrong directions, not enough recognition towards the need from rest. It is advising focus on the number 1 and redirect that way  to gain the essence of (1’s, 2’s, 4’s ,5’s, 7’s and 8’s). in numerology- better to look at numbers that are not there than what is there. same with the tarot- the cards that don’t show up say a lot more than the cards that do.

In Lenormand- same principle- it is just as complicated and rich as the tarot zipped into 36 cards- look at the question and then check for the answer- its always there-

Daily Draw- 33 Key + 22 Crossroad + 20 Garden Extra 18 Dog

Posted in 18 Dog, 20 Garden, 22 Crossroad, 33 Key, Daily Draw for Reflective Practise with tags , on March 24, 2008 by the travelling psychiatrist

My daily draw for today, nothing particular in mind- just advice or the heads up kind of thinking..

8333.jpg     8222.jpg     8202.jpg          8182.jpg

‘ 33 Key + 22 Crossroads + 20 Garden extra card 18 Dog’

The key makes this a heads up reading- hmm, with the crossroads- choices and making decisions, alternative options perhaps. The Garden- meetings in public place, get togethers or parties. With the 18 Dog- I wonder if this about attending a party with a friend/companion. Whats so special about attending a party with a mate? unless- I will make a choice to attend a gathering and there will be a fated reunion with this ‘friend’.

The Key suggests importance/weight to the decision making process-

 In the book-

 Key+Crossroad-free will/karmic journey

Crossroad+Garden-excursion/multiple public events

Garden+Dog- celebration/reunion

I am still wondering– will have to wait and see on this one–

Daily Draw- 18 Dog + 3 Ship + 32 Moon Extra 21 Mountain

Posted in 18 Dog, 21 Mountain, 3 Ship, 32 Moon, Daily Draw for Reflective Practise, Lenormand Cards on March 13, 2008 by the travelling psychiatrist

‘ 18 Dog + 3 Ship + 32 Moon  extra card 21 Mountain’

I made a conscious effort to allow the cards to give what it felt I should know about.  The dog appears here perhaps representing  someone I know  who is either overseas or in the process of travelling (ship). I always take the ship to represent big journeys, crossing  continents . The moon relates to emotions and feelings, could also represent acknowledgement of mutual affection. The mountain appearing as an extra could mean long delays or represent characteristics of the person or a place.

I wonder if there is an element of timing in this spread- with the Moon card- lunar cycle- 4 weeks perhaps.

Dog card can also mean a soulmate. Sweet card indeed as it speaks of reliability, trustworthiness and honesty. It is nice and reassuring to know that this person who is making this journey is just that, the ideal companion. Dog +ship- represent foreign friendships in combination.

The Ship speaks of international travel and makes the dog card Masculine. Also has an added function of timing representing the month March or 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months. Ship + Moon combined mean romantic getaway/ honeymoon.

The Moon is all things emotion, romance and affection. When speaking of a person- describes feminine traits- charm, seductive and alluring. In timing- it is fast- piscean, or cancerian timing ( June 21st – July 21st). In my previous draws- the timing I predicted was communication to be had about travel on or before the 21st of March. This layout is obviously about the meeting/holiday itself which I intuited to be in Summer which is still a long way away.  Moon+Mountain speaks of longing or feeling isolated.

I do feel the mountain will add  delay (3 weeks- 2/3 months) to all this taking place, I suspect. It just makes me think patience and do not rush. I have a postive feeling that the wait is worth it.

Any other insight is welcome-
